About Department

Chemical Engineering Department at Government Polytechnic Arvi is dedicated to developing skilled technical professionals capable of contributing to industries such as pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, fertilizers, food processing, and environmental engineering. The program combines strong theoretical foundations with practical, industry-oriented training, ensuring that students gain hands-on experience in chemical processes, plant operations, and modern laboratory techniques.

Vision

To produce competent technical manpower in Chemical Engineering for fulfilling needs of industry and society.

Mission

1)To impart a need based technical education in Chemical Engineering.
2) To modernize departmental laboratories and facilities.
3) To train faculty and staff to meet challenges in a socio-technical environment.
4) To inculcate values and ethics among students.

 Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

  1. Provide socially responsible, environment friendly broad-based solutions to Chemical Engineering related problems adapting professional ethics.
  2. Adapt state-of-the-art of Chemical Engineering by implementing advanced technologies to   work in multi-disciplinary work environments.
  3. Solve broad-based problems individually and as a team member communicating effectively in the world of work.

Program Outcomes (POs)

  1. Basic and Discipline specific knowledge: Apply knowledge of basic mathematics, science and engineering fundamentals and engineering specialization to solve the Chemical Engineering problems.
  2. Problem analysis:  Identify and analyse well-defined Chemical Engineering problems using codified standard methods.
  3. Design/ development of solutions: Design solutions for well-defined technical problems and assist with the design of systems components or processes to meet specified needs in field of Chemical Engineering.
  4. Engineering Tools, Experimentation and Testing: Apply modern Chemical engineering tools and appropriate technique to conduct standard tests and measurements.
  5. Engineering practices for society, sustainability and environment: Apply appropriate technology in context of society, sustainability, environment and ethical practices in field of Chemical Engineering.
  6. Project Management: Use engineering management principles individually, as a team member or a leader to manage projects and effectively communicate about well-defined Chemical Engineering activities
  7. Life-long learning: Ability to analyse individual needs and engage in updating in the context of technological changes in Chemical Engineering and allied industry.
